Took the old hot rod out for our final 5.99 race this past weekend. I knew it would be too quick because the weather was just right. First pass, it went 5.77, so had to do a little tuning. We changed the top pulley to increase the underdrive to 15%, lowered the leave rpm 400, lowered the shift 200, backed the throttle stop out 3 turns, unhooked the secondaries on the front carb, drained the float bowl, wired the butterflies shut, & removed the fuel line altogether. By the time we finished, it went 6.000, good enough for #1 qualifier. Unfortunately, my worst light of the day(.023) cost me the first round.

Dang Justus -- you just about did everything but chain it to the fence and take the wheels off to slow that beast down ! ;D

Justus suggested I post my results on here. I have just won the Australian V8 superboat championships (www.v8superboats.com.au) in the restricted 350 chev class. I have run e85 all season with a carbie Justus built for me. I was the first and still the only one to run my boat on e85 but a few of the more knoledgable guys have noticed how strong my engine is running and started asking me about e85. It is difficult to get a direct comparison due to the nature of our racing but based on my datalog's my boat was about 1.5seconds faster on a 40sec track direction than on unleaded. The engine also runs much smoother and seems to have more torque for pulling through corners. Cheers Daniel Congrats anything that needs more bottom end benifits from a ethanol tune up... The barby is on me if ya pass my way!

Justus.... Did ya ever think to just hang a set of lil air filters or muffled zoomies ...that slows our blown coupe down .with both on and at 1-1 were 10.00@135 pull baffles and its 9.50

Took the old hotrod out for a match race this past week. I leaned on it just a little(making 5 pounds of boost) & it ran good enough for the win. 5.59 @ 124.78MPH.

Adam, This thing already has mufflers with collector headers on it. By the way---it's street legal except for the slicks & I have driven it on the street before.
