That's excellent, it's great to find some fellow bracket racers. Especially one's that know what they're talking about!!! I agree BB I'm ready to get going on this points season myself. Last year was my first full season of the points series, and the guy to beat this year is the same guy it' been for a few years now. The guy is good, he's also a real good guy so it's real hard to dislike him. So I figure I'm going to race him every chance I get, If I'm ever going to win one of these points seasons it's him I have to beat. Last season I raced him in the finals on the King of the Track race where the winner gets a Wally. He beat me in a race that was so close neither one of us knew who won until the win light came on in his lane (double break out, him by less)

I was in the final of an Ironman race a couple of years ago & I turned on the 'ol red eye! Kinda sucks because you don't get those hardware opportunities all that often! It's all good though..... I got the next best thing. A plaque with the picture of an Ironman on it. It's like..."Hey a$$hole, see what you could have won if you didn't F-up!"

Hahahaha yep that's exactly how I felt, I wanted that Wally BAD!!! We had talked before that race and agreed to just pool the 1st and 2nd place money and split it, we both figured we won't get rich or go broke on that money either way, we both just wanted the Wally. Thats sweet about that plaque, all I got was the pic on the track's face book page when I got home of Marlin holding that GD Wally.

same nuts happened to me, was at a IHRA big meet and went 7 rounds and got into the finals where we did split the money but raced for 100 and the iron man, I had lane choice and was holding 2 little numbers, and went red by .003, the dragster was .050 and could not run his dial due to a blown head gasket, so how long of a drive home was it for me that night?

Gramps, I can relate to the cost of E85 being the biggest factor in my switch. It has allowed me to do more racing. Better performance & consistency were lagniappe! I don't ever see myself going back to race gas. I will build low compression motors & run 93 pump gas or switch to methanol before I pay those SOB's $10 plus a gallon for race gas!

I totally agree, not too many things in this world anymore that actually cost you less and you can do more with them. The E85 will give me all kinds of options next year when I build my new motor and get another car to put my current drive line in.

Well for a sportsman car You'll probably laugh at this, but my favorite car that my old man had and he bought a lot of cars while I was growing up was a 1969 Impala. I wish I knew why, I know that's a heavy car but with what I have now in the truck I should be able to make something like that go 12 seconds even. That's one of the things with the truck now it runs 11.6x but if I make the team again and go to the division 3 finals again NHRA sets the sportsman bracket limit at 12.00 not 11.50 like the track where I race. The problem with a 69 Impala is around here these a$$holes think anything older than 1980 is worth it's weight in gold and I won't pay what their asking. If the Impala doesn't work out I'd like to find something G.M. that I can build to 12 seconds and drive it back and forth to the track and car shows around home, quite a few guys do this at the track where I race. Right now here 4th gen Camaros are a dime a dozen, but I don't care for their looks as well as the one say like you sent that last pic of. An older Firebird would be great, I'm actually an old Pontiac guy at heart, G.M. really pi$$ed me off when they dropped Pontiac.

Kind of a funny story....I was at one of my local tracks about a month ago & one of my time trials & one elimination round were against the guy I was parked next to. Both times, I made the turn off first. Later on, we were talking & he tells me "man, when I was following you back to the pits, I was smelling beer!" When I was finished laughing, I told him about the fuel I'm running! Who says you can't have beer while you race?!
