Well just figured Id make a few of you northerners jealous.
Had our winter warm up race today, also the scotty Richardson drag racing school which I attended. Now I consider myself a decent driver, obviously have my flaws but anytime I get on the track I believe I have a good shot of turning on a win light but even myself doesnt know everything(well I'm 21 years old so hypothetically I do know everything, in my eyes) but I did learn a few things that I was either overlooking or too nieve to listen to. If anyone has ever been on the fence about spending the money on the school I would highly recommend it.
Back to the topic at hand, our winter warm up race, I ended up pulling out a win in Super Pro. I was quadruple teched first round(double teched in no electronics and superpro) the only rounds I lost were when I went red(red lights were .003, .001, and .000 so I was uneasy about that but it was just good to get back behind the wheel and come out with a win!

well drop a few psi outta the tires and go green or be more tailend retentive in staging . what was your biggest enlightenment ? ihad a guy in hawleys class argue till we graphed on paper that deep staging does nothing to a head up car and when staging deep changing tire front psi would change his reaction time . it took us over a hr to get it to sink in after the class with a roll out wheel .how hard headed were you ? this was the same guy who told me i cant judge a dragster at the stripe it to fast ! .8235 ft. per mph difference as the hood hits the first mph cone. or use the 1 sec .out point of reference . first time i raced this guy late rounds i was doa on tree and he was chasing me ,caught me by 1100ft and tried to fender me i jerked hard on stearing wheel and slammed my head down on the wheel . as he was pacing me it looked like i stuffed the brakes for all its worth ...... so then did he too as it was a cr appy windy day and dial in was a guess ...it looked like he put it into reverse .and he gave back the stripe on a fake dump!!!!!!!! bet scooty never taught that in a class !

remember old age, wisdom and sheer treachery will over come youthful exuberance and abilities. and you did the smartest thing any young gun can do . listen to a wise man and use his knowledge as your own . if you can learn this stuff in a class or a board it's alot faster and cheaper in the long run . nice job on the win!!!!! i think your the first on here in 2011 and i'm very jellous as i can now see the trailer and move it for the snow has finnal;ly melted

Yea the red lights were more so because one we had a different carb on the car than I normally run(mines getting upgrades) and I was having to change the tree rather than the car(had a stumble at low hit I couldn't quite fix in time for eliminations) so I ha to raise my launch rpm footbraking. When my avg bottom bulb light is a .018 I raise Rpms it cuts it tight haha.
The .000 was a top bulb "d**n if it's green it's good" moment as the tree dropped haha. I can say I have almost 15 years racing under my belt and I have raced with the best of them in the country and held my ground and I STILL learned something going to the class.

We had a 3000 to win electronics 2000 to win no/e this past weekend. Went 5 rounds in no/e before getting poped by your reigning NHRA sportsman national champ Jeff Hefler. Good race but he did a better job at the starting line. We finally got my low rpm stumble fixed so I was able to launch at 23-2500 instead of a leg braking 3300 that I had to do in all of 2010. Now I just have to get my sweet spot back on the bottom bulb.
Went 7 rounds in top(down to 6 cars) on Saturday night and it started to rain. Me and a buddy who were still in tried to get them to split the purse between us 6($933 a piece) but some of the local professional bracket racers(haha) decided to wait it out till morning where my brilliant wisdom hit the bump down to a .006 red light(I have .006 in the bump down....DOH!). Then the rain starts again and we rain out the Sunday race.
First NHRA D4 LODRS race this weekend in Houston Texas maybe my driving will carry over to the .90 realm as I have yet to lose a transbrake round with a green light!

if you give someone enough toys and time to think to use em they can convince them selves right into a loss!

Looks like I'm getting this Super Street stuff down somewhat. Got down too three cars at Belle Rose Jegs Sportsnationals this past weekend until I took an extra bump in the beams and hesitated off the button. The .076 light looks real good on DRC haha. Heck I just figured out by looking at DRC that my opponent with 5 cars left was 'ol Dave Connelly. After 2nd round I never had enough time to look at the ladder to see who I had, guess I needed that .015 dead 9 on someone like that!!!
