Had another decent run on Saturday was in at 5 cars sitting on the bye....then the rain. Car seems to be working good. Had one round where I slowed 5 out of nowhere, came back next rd and went right back where it was all day. (Luckily on the pass it lost 5 I was holding 3 numbers and had the guy by 30 on the tree 009 MOV)

Got the win at Shadyside Dragway on Sunday 5/30 in the 5.99 index heads-up class. It was hot and the track was good at the starting line but tricky through the middle and top end. We just turned a few screws on the Henry J and he when right down through there. The final was a hoot. We already split the money 50/50 so the race was on for the win. I strapped a .005 light on the tree to his .019 so we were door handle to door handle the whole way. It was a double break out. He ran a 5.987@112.787 to my 5.989@114.696. Winner winner chicken dinner.

Almost got the job done 3 times this weekend.
Runner up on Friday, 3 cars Saturday, 3 cars Sunday. Almost got the job done. On all 3 passes I lost I trusted the car and ran out by 030 each race.
Need to get this thing tuned just a little better.

Had a good night on Saturday. Won the Box class Footbrakeing and went to the semis of No Box. Put 13 elimination runs on the car. Car was good all night ran 4 11.14s 4 11.13's 11.12, 11.11. Still had the one off the wall run where I slowed .02 but going to try a couple things this week to remedy it.
All in all a great weekend and it was a blast sitting in teh lanes with 7 cars in Box class I count 6 dragsters and my 11 sec footbraking door car. It was a great win.

You ever get beat by a water pump? Finally made my first race with the dragster Saturday night. To start things off they had two huge oil-downs right in a row. Don't think we ran 1st round until after 10PM. Redlit 1st round with something stupid like a -.021. No idea where that came from. Got by 2nd and 3rd round pretty easy. Coming back from 3rd round car kept getting hotter and hotter. 30-40 minutes later and it was still around 200°. Air coming off radiator was not even warm so I finally came to the conclusion that my water pump had shot craps. Went to the lanes and told the guy I was paired with that I was not gonna make it. I might have been able to run it but why take the chance. Always another day. All in all I still had fun. Have a new pump on the way so maybe we'll have better luck next time out.

well we went to super chevy made the 20 mile drive at 179 deg. water temp in a blown sbc and then proceded to not be able to get off the line ......fart and cough as it did only went 10.50's to fast for 11.00 class not fast enough for 10.00 dang it ....later on found out the owner has switched out the little s/s needles for huge alky titanium ones and rased the floats . to spill....... well all that did was give less space for the little side hungs to dribble past the big seats and slosh out the tubes when he hit it . ...... proved that one by video of launch to the guy . old hose loop from vent to vent fixed it for the next day . back in the 9's ......the poor 4 dr turbo car had a different type of brpv type carb on it and at high boost it was way rich and wouldn't come up on trans brake had to pull a few rabbits out of the hat and get it to go 9.50's my brother will be drilling the main wells bigger on the home built c02 carb to get it more fuel at 28psi! while i get the three speed ready .8.50 meets ugly four door . i ran the blown coupes owners nos chevelle and had to fix that carb too as a float stuck on his home made jet extension ...... i wish i could seal a crb up after i'm done .thats ok had to run him first round and he went red second round i was .004 dead on with a 6 backing into the dial . next race guy is under by .9 and .460 light ....omg he was looking at the green light or me going deep!

what pump dave? i love the powder coated proforms and the alum. weiands never a problem . Car has a remote mount pump Adam. It's a "Teel" utility/RV pump that probably came from the local farm store. It came with the car when I bought it. I was gonna redo the entire cooling system this winter but I ordered another remote mount pump so I can get it back up and running asap. I really didn't want to go that route, but oh well. The pump I ordered was a little pricey but hopefully it will cool the car better than the old one did. [Edit] Took the old pump apart and the brass center had come loose from the rubber impeller. New pump has a billet aluminum impeller so hopefully it will last a good long time.
