...twice more on my way to the victory at 12 midnight! Everyone else was off 2 tenths in the heat of the car and thrashing on their carbs. Smack 'em with the corn!

I'm lovin' the play by play Tim, thanks. I feel like I'm right there with you. That track manager should have let you back in but lesson learned. I have had to shut me car off before to get their attention because the dial was wrong on the board. It's just the human factor at work. Anyway this coming weekend will be my first time back behind the wheel since my daughter was born. We put a powerglide with a trans brake in our Camaro yesterday to try and keep up with the rest of Performance Street on the .400 pro tree. I'll post the results. I posted a polite, respectful complaint about the situation at racecmp.com (their web site) and it was deleted after 2 days. I am shocked (not).Yeah, let us know how that works out... I am at 1.047 on the delay box, so .053 would be my BEST light in my rig... I may have to try a pro brake myself since we are also now doing 6.50 and 7.50 classesNew Hoosier D05 coming tomorrow... need to get them broke in Friday night, double entering the Duke Williams Memorial (my dad's race) - 2K to win ($45 entry). Eric and some of you closer to Owensboro should make the trip. Gambler's race on Friday night and the big race Saturday. I have an open couch and a hot shower :-)

Ran the PTRA Race on Orangeburg SC this weekend. Won 1st round by .002 than the rains came. Lost 2nd round on Sunday, ran 5.99 to his 6.00 for the break-out. Hear the guys at the Pro E85 race at US 41 had a lot of fun though.

I spent the weekend trying to run the IHRA divisional at Osceola. Saturday, the mist and rain blew in off the lake all day. We were about 5 minutes from calling it at 2:30 and the sun came out. My plan was if it got called to race 2 hrs home, pick up the anglia and go US 41 to run the 12.00 class without a time-run. By alas I had to try one last time, as the track was @ 90% and I was getting ready to gold dust and spray, it poured, but it was too late to make 41.
Do tell more about the Pro E85 race!

Well, only made 3rd this weekend. The car ran the number, but somehow a .074 light showed up in the semi's. I could not catch him, dumped it hard and the ticket says I picked up 2 mph! Uh... not! Not sure what happened, and I don't feel I cut a 74 light, but that is possible of course.
My daughter did win Jr Dragster at Bowling Green today- I am not supposed to mention she was the only entrant!! 9.20, 9.22, 9.22 - she would have beaten if they showed up anyway! I dialed the car wrongly: it ran 5.693 last time run, 5.695 first round (hotter ambient temp), so I put a 5.70 and top off the fuel cell (3 gal cell)... .001 light wasted with a 5.695 breakout.
Load it up!

Another great show at US41 - 22 cars in Pro E85. Awesome crowd again.
My anglia was #1 qualifier in 12.00 again at 12.012 (15 cars this time). Had the field covered, the guy I had in the final took a shot at the tree and it came up 0.008 green, so I settled for runner-up.

Sounds like your having fun now nrpstarter. Way to go. When ever something like that happens to me in the later rounds I try and pick them out early next time and get the pay-back out of the way. Great job and keep it going.

Ran in the PTRA (Pro Tree Racers Association) finals last weekend at a brand new track in Union SC. This place is going to become one of the premier tracks of the south east. The corrected altitude was 700 feet (we usually run in around 3000 foot air) and everyone was running quicker here than they do most anywhere else. We totally knocked the wind out of our sail and was only making 3 pounds of boost and still ran a 5.93 (we run the 6.00 index class) in Q1. I pulled 3/4 of a degree of timing out per pound of boost and it ran 5.96 in Q2. So I pulled a full degree and dropped the leave by 300 rpm. This produced a 6.01 in E1 but was a recipe for disaster on the starting line. I had taken so much away from it that it didn't hike up the front end like usual, just sort of drove off the line to a .074 light. In the PTRA you've got to be .03 or better to even stand a chance at the finish line. So needless to say we were packing it in early. Finished 8th over all and 6th in the divisional. All in all not a bad year.

tim does your car have front brakes? ?!!!!! No front brakes. There was a racer killed years ago with a shorty dragster when one of his front brakes locked at the finish. My car has been all over the place lately and I cannot stuff enough fuel into it to make the LM-2 happy (I will post some graphs when I get them d/l). 850 center section w/180 boosters QF blocks with 51/28 bleeds and 100 jets still running lean. So, I bit the bullet and ordered a HIGH DOLLAR carb (~ $800!) from a place which will remain nameless for now (you will understand why later). I know it sounds senseless to do that but I justified it saying: "I don't what this junk I have really is, and I just missed a $1500 purse and a Wally tonight!" (That was last week). So I bolt on the thing... and I keep jetting it up to make the LM-2 wideband happy. I put the 100's in finally (biggest I had) and the ET's were the same as last week and still jumping around... 5.67 one pass, 5.69 the next, 5.65 and then 5.72.... it is insane! And with the idles screws 3 turns out I was still at 1.5 lambda at idle! Heath: give me a quote on a 950 center and baseplate with .180 annular boosters. That should allow it to suck fuel and knock the CFM back down in the 860-890 range right? Maybe I have a valvetrain issue?? who knows but I am disgusted with running inconsistent and we have 3 ten thousand dollar races happening in 2 weeks. I was .0001 to .0172 on the tree tonight. I think I would have a chance if my flipping car could get a mouth full of E85!
