That bites David. We had a fun time this weekend racing with a customer that drove all the way down from Indiana to North Carolina just to go racing with us. Joe Davis and his wife towed his car down and we went to Moorseville Dragway for the doorcarapliza. I haven't bracket raced in about 4 years so needless to say I was completely lost. One thing I did want to do is make the quick 16 in TOP so we tuned 'er up a bit. The bump after the 1st round of qualified was a 5.86 so I figured I was solid with my 5.72 @ 124 pass in round 2 but after that round the bump dropped to 5.69, oh well. The 'ol Henry J was still moving. I know we were the smallest motor even close at 355 ci. So I was trying to get use to using the delay box. Cut a .001 red in Q1 and .002 red in Q2, rolled .015 in it for E1 and went .031 red. WTF? Come to find out they do a thing called cross talk now. So both top ambers come on at the same time but the faster cars top light just sits there while the slower cars tree comes down. Needless to say I was lost. I'm going back to my heads up pro tree index racing with no buy backs and no funky trees. When you see yellow you go. I'm glad there wasn't a camera in the car because the first time I released the button with delay I was leaning forward in the seat feeling stupid. It was still fun to spend time with friends for the day and nothing broke so it was a good day. Makes me wonder just how fast we can go though. Still only made 7 psi of boost on the 5.72 run.

Runner-up AND quarter finals tonight (double-entry). I was trying a new gas station's E-85 and that crap STUNK like sour berries... back to my old stuff tomorrow night... I was inconsistent the last several rounds... I was only winning by God's grace and favor!
I heard a whistling sound last couple of rounds pulling to staging lanes. I will pull the scoop and make sure I don't have a piece of tire rubber or a pebble in there :-)
It's 2:30 am here gnite...

Well, last Sat and this Sat, same thing... win 2 rounds and RAIN, last week they were packed and split up the purse $51 each, this week $78 each...
Second round I trailered a guy's bling-bling with my $6K ride. His trailer is worth more than my house!
Heading to Beech Bend in Bowling Green tomorrow if they are not flooded.

Well, in my second weekend using E85, I think I've got it tuned right and ready to run. Got down the the semi's in the no box class @ Ohio Valley Dragway in Louisville, KY. I swear this stuff can read the dial you write on your window and make the car run dead on. Was dialed on a 7.29 all night till the semi's. Ran 7.29-7.30 every single run. Reaction times were .010-.032 all night. Dialed a 7.28 in the semi's cause I got on the brakes pretty hard the round b4 to run dead on. Car spun ever so slighty and jumped a little sideways and I thought crap, there goes the R/T. Sure enough, .059 and ran dead on with a 2 and lost. He was .024 and 1 off dipping the nose. Still, the consistency the car has now is amazing!

At Chandler Motorsports Park this weekend just 12 miles from home. Not my normal track, but Windy Hollow in Owensboro is closed due to the Jegs Quick 32 being held here. They have a reciprocal close agreement when this race comes to town. I am not double entering today because next weekend is a $2000 to win memorial race at Windy for my father (he was a racer there and died in 2000 of cancer) - less chance of breaking something. I do not want to miss that race. And my daughter is racing juniors today.
Bad, hot air today. 5.71 and 5.70 time runs. I am trying a new intake - Motown. It is not port matched, and I am not convinced that would be any improvement. The 5.71 was with my normal 2" aluminum spacer. Then I removed it and ran 14 thousanths quicker and almost 1 mph faster.
First round is approaching. Update soon.

Just won round 1 - well God gave it to me: my shifter failed and the guy kept going and broke out!

Ran 5.67 on 5.66 dial. The problem is they misread my dialin and had 4.66 on the board! Yeah. I should have caught it, but I have never had them get it wrong a full seco d. Incompetence. And no reaction time on the slip. Buy back and pray? Guess so.
The guy who runs the track has enough sense to let me back in free buy I cannot find him. The people in the tower blame me. I was thinking about racing here next year. The chances of that are dropping fast.

Well I found the track manager and he kept smiling as he told me, "no." No big deal to me... $25 to buy back and he loses many future $45 entries... sounds fair - he must have gone to Harvard Business School. I can continue driving 42 miles to race for the time being...
3rd round I got drawed for the bye but there were an even number of cars... ended up racing my brother-in-law who proceeded to put a .004 light and dead on with a 3 run, 7 thou package on my butt!
Time to trailer it
He makes it to 5 cars and loses to a 12 thou package
Gnite, Tim out

I'm lovin' the play by play Tim, thanks. I feel like I'm right there with you. That track manager should have let you back in but lesson learned. I have had to shut me car off before to get their attention because the dial was wrong on the board. It's just the human factor at work. Anyway this coming weekend will be my first time back behind the wheel since my daughter was born. We put a powerglide with a trans brake in our Camaro yesterday to try and keep up with the rest of Performance Street on the .400 pro tree. I'll post the results.

Inconsistent Anglia no more. After all of your help, I stood it on the bumper 3 consecutive passes and was a 1st rd duck three weeks ago. So....
Added 35# to the nose of the car. Ran Super Chevy at Rt 66. Got down to 5 cars before I turned on the evil red eye. Car ran 12.07 all day.
Last Saturday with the parents in town from Ohio, was a semi-finalist at Bunker Hill. All 8 passes were a 7.61 or 7.62. Won the dial for dollars and had a 0.0000 green light foot braking in the quarters. Evil red eye got me in the semis.
Sunday I drove to Rt 66 half asleep from the night before. First time run the car stumbled at the hit of the throttle (first time since I put the Quickfuel blocks in). I put bigger shotters in (50s) and car ran 12.087. After a 6 hr rain delay, I put 12.05 on the car and ran 12.049 on a double breakout. Putt 12.04 on the car and ran 12.049 twice more on my way to the victory at 12 midnight! Everyone else was off 2 tenths in the heat of the car and thrashing on their carbs.

nrpstarter.. I was at bunker hill on Sat. too.. (it is my home track). I thought that Anglia may have been you. I tried to pay attention when you were running, it did look like you had it nailed every time. I run S/P and had 5 runs from 5.063 - 5.069 myself. Changing to E85 was the best thing I have done in a long time.
