you need to switch over to A-heads to get that much HP, we have a guy with a 580ci P-51 headed engine that makes 1005 hp he said thats all he can get with the P-51's, he said if he had A-heads it would make 1150 to 1200 HP, I met a guy last night with a 544ci BBF with A-heads that were unported out of the box and his engine makes 1000 HP with a single dommy so what are you going to do JP? ?? If I can help let me know!

you know the bad thing about switching to A-heads is you have to change everything from pistons, intake, stud girdles and headers so thats what sucks, are you going to make it bigger???

JP, have you gave it much thought on what you are going to build for next year? the 598 A-head combo works pretty good and a 572 A head would be good as well

Probably going to stick with the p-51 heads

the P-51's are good heads and you can make 1000 HP with bigger CI, if you use a 4.500 crank you could make a 572 or a 588 or a 598, good luck with what ever you decide

VP's NEW! C45™ RACING FUEL
C45 is designed strictly for All Motor applications, meaning naturally aspirated engines. It’s oxygenated and when tuned properly, will handle up to 16:1 compression . It will not handle boost or nitrous. With its 100 motor octane rating, pulling a couple degrees of timing at first to be safe is recommended. It will require approximately 4 to 6 percent more fuel than VP’s Q16 so a purpose-built carburetor will most likely be in order.
In the hands of a knowledgeable tuner, C45 cannot be beat for power and torque!
