Helo, I'm a new member, and switching to e85 this season. I run a 8896 Dominator and was thinking to add 33% to the main jet, intermediate restrictor and idle restrictor, and go 33% smaller on all the air bleeds from my current gasoline setup. Does this sound like a good starting point? I will also increase shooter and needle and seat size. Thank You!

Hi, I used 8896 Dominator on gas, then alky. and I am switching to e85 now for racing. Great carb, I love them but to do it right you really need the correct parts like Heath carries. For e85 the boosters are different, gas is too small, alky is too big. If your handy the kit will have all you need and puts you right in the ball park, or you can have Heath and Justus do their thing. Love those Doms!!

Welcome 406 Chevelle. I like your way of thinking and it would probably crank and idle on that but to do it right the blocks and boosters need to be changed too. We started down the E85 path before any "special" parts were being made and we followed a very similar line of thought that you have described. When we went testing and ended up making a pass with no main jet at all in the metering blocks on the Dom we were testing and still weren't flowing enough fuel we figured we better try something else.

Thanks Carlos and Heath for your response. I'm sure your right boosters and blocks should be changed for max performance. With a .150 jet it will be like no jet at all, but I can't resist trying. I'm going to put a lot of intermediate in it and very small main air bleed. Tracks don't open for about a month so I'll have to wait and see. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks!

Adam, looks like your Vega leaves hard, what are your 60 ,1/8/, and 1/4 times? I know a little about injection due to my involvement with 360 sprint cars.

the best pass was 1.266 60ft on rear tires 9.30's . right now with the big motor in it stood up broke the bars and destroyed the front end! so we figure that e-85 will calm it down and save some $$$$ too...
the tune up flowed alot with .035 nozzles and .080 bypass. the pump out put is alittle big and allows me to run smaller than normal nozzles ......keeps atomizing and starts alot faster . with 200 sportsmans that flowed 260cfm it went 9.8 at 137 on 32 nozzles
