Im a Holley guy myself..
But I have a friend who is intent on using an older Quadrajet with E-85.. His engine will be under 400 horsepower.
What other modifications would be needed other than getting alcohol resistant accelerator pump , and re-jetting..

Yea, all he has to do is replace it with a Holley / Holley style carb outfitted for E85 and he's good to go, ha. No seriously I know it can be done I'm just not the one to ask how. Maybe some others on this board can help out. I think the main problem on the Q-jet is the float bowl capacity. We have played around with the Edelbrocks and this can be over come to certain extent with a dual feed fuel line but I simply don't know that much about the Q-jet. Sorry I wasn't more help but I'm interested in monitoring the posts on this one.

Thanks Heath.. Ive heard that the Q-jet has enough float capacity to support around 500 horse on gasoline. so I think with a high flow needle and seat that it could support his under 400 horse engine on E-85.. I was just wondering if there were any other magic passages that needed to be enlarged.. On a Holley you just change the metering block.. on a Q-jet its integral..
