Hello I found your board on an internet search.
I live in Minnesota and we have an ample supply of E-85 up here so I was thinking about building a very small cube high compression V-8 engine for my street car.
What has been you experience on storage and The E-85 picking up moisture ? I keep hearing reports of tanks getting water in them during long term storage... With Minnesota winters and the d**n road salt up here there is an off season for streetmachines as well ;D

hoffbug, welcome to the board. Say you have E85 in "ample supply". That's got to be GREAT! We have a few station around and when we buy it we buy in bulk. Usually a couple hundred gallons at a time. What can I say, we burn a lot of the stuff. We store it in plastic drums with the little screw on caps with the white rubber o-ring around the rim. We are still burning E85 that we bought over a year ago with no moister problems. The drums we use are air tight so I guess that's what you need. Just store it out of direct sun light and away from any source of heat or open flame of course and you should be good to go. When you get ready to build that motor give me a call and we'll get together on a good tune-up for ya. Thanks for writing in and keep us posted.

I was worried about the same thing. My car doesn't get any use (or even started) from mid November until May? I was worried about the E85 in the stock metal tank getting bad. I do get a lot of moisture in my(breather) catch can mset up from burning E85 though. I didnt get any with regular gas.
