Setting up my Drag car on E85

thats cool that you have a tranny brake, if you hooked it up and ran it last weekend your car would have run in the high 60's to low 70's with no problem at all so you got a hauling azz Olds my friend, well let me give you my 2 cents on your back half project, I have had both 4 link and ladder bar suspension and on a car like yours the ladder bar will work better, they are way more forgiving on marginal tracks and they have better adjustability on a car like yours (GM A-body) you can call up competition engineering in so. Florida and get them to send you a catalog on back having and send you the video too, I should have asked first but you may be a fabricator and I don't know that if so sorry but anyway you see the picture of my Buick thats a ladder bar with out coil overs!!!

I can do fab work I backhalfed a pickup and 2 older drag cars back in the mid eighty's I have never done a ladder bar car only 4 link but a buddy of mine at the track said the same thing that you said about the ladder bar set up. I just want to get it dropped down over the slicks I plan on runnng a 10.5W set up like 30x13x15 stiff wall MT ET Drags. I just dont want alot of rolling resistance because I want to run a 4.30 or 4.56 pro gear so It can run 1/8th or 1/4 mile. I really do want to fab it up myself my buddy has a nice shop I can do alot of the work in. I plan on dumping every nut bolt wire washer you name it I am going to run a 7 wire painless fuse box and painless switch box and simplify everything. Going to Lexan Glass doors fenders and cut away most of the flooring going to aluminum. I would love to get a good 9.90 car when I am done no spray just run it on e85. Yes and I agree the trans brake is not only going to help reaction times its gonna pickup a bit on my ET's too. I aliready cannot wait until next season.

Hey Guys we went out Sunday it was really cold in the morning like 33* when we got over to the track. Made 3 1/8th mile passes all were 7.0 to7.07. Then as it warmed up to a steamy 45* we went into the finals I dialed in a 7.0 ran a 6.96 broke out then dialed a 6.94 ran a 6.95 great then dialed a 6.94 ran a 6.94 we made 5 rounds in the finals got booted on a double redlite and double break out I ran a 6.91 car yanked the front wheels a good foot of the hit. And it was all on some e85 I got at a Meijers store at $2.44 a gallon Wow its like a really cool dream. Everyone I raced was talking smack till they got put on the trailers. I cant wait until spring holy smokes this is a bad ass car right now!!! Wait until she really gets planted on the ground. Oh also I love these guys who come out spraying the cars on a cold slick track and I get out on them and they cannot hook back up. Life is Good Right Now 1 more Sunday and she gets put up. Or tore down for a total facelift. YESSSS!!!!!!

Not yet we went out to the final money race for the season we made 7 rounds and got into the final round. I just got eeeked out margin of victory was .005 his way but we had agreed to split 1st and 2nd place money even up that way we are just racing to do what we do put a show on for the people who pay good money to come out and support our habits. I am having rocket racing build me a set of stainless headers custom built to fit inside the rails with 4" collectors and tube A arms for the front also ladder bar the rear and 2x3 the backhalf. Should drop some weight I also bought a 4.30 pro gear for my 12 bolt I am going to narrow it so it sits down over the tires and drops flat putting drop spindles up front too so my winter will be a busy one also got to get my Dominator converted too. I have been busy cleaning out the garage so I can get it done. Just been trying to figure out the best way to go . I did find a already cut down 12 bolt with a spool and strange axles and ladder bars. Just been trying to get my parts in line. You guys have a great Holiday season I will stay in touch as I will be putting my Dominator converted on in the spring. Take care have a Happy happy
