I have a 427 small block about 700 hp run a 1050 4150 on ignite red 114. Made 250 runs last year no issues at all. I have a magnafuel 270 pump and ref. 12 line to pump 10 to ref two 6 to the carb 8 on the return. So I freshen the motor car runs pretty fast 9.60 140. About 15 runs in car kinda shuts down at 1100 ft like it is running out of fuel. So I pull a plug find a burnt tip and decided to knock the timing down to 34 from 38 add jet 110 from 106 and put a ngk 10 in from a 8. Car makes 25 passes and burns a piston to nuts. I was told I went backwards and was putting to much gas down it and not enough spark. So I fix it hit the track on race gas and make 20 passes no issues nice dark plugs clean burn. So I put the ethanol carb on ngk 7 and 38 timing and now the car won't pull . It lags low gear but pulls through it and goes right to the high gear then it shifts and falls on its face. It is like you add 1000lbs when you shift it just sits at 6200 won't pull. So I changed the pumpand reg and had the carb gone through and it does the same. So I change the digital 7and coil. Same thing no difference. I have checked everything plugs, wires, cap, rotter etc fyi it's a front mount msd crank trigger. I am totally lost right now. I put gas on the car and go win races. Put ethanol in it won't pull. Any ideas ? Starting to think bad cam profile or something but it has not been changed from last year and it ran pretty good the first 15 hits. Please give me your input. Pretty sur I am gitting spark and fuel.

I also tried a 100 jet and a 106 and the 100 just pops and runs on like it's crazy lean but pretty much pulls the same as the 110. Jet don't make a difference

welcome Zach, it looks like you have checked everything but have you tested the fuel % ? is it 85%? your combo needs at least 106 jet IMO, mine was about 650 HP and I used 104 in the summer and 106 in the winter, what about your fuel lines? I know the sizes are big enough but what if they have some blockage??? do you have and paper filters??? if so get rid of them and use stainless steel, I know some of the other guys will chime in and help out, so good luck

It has beaded line all the way and the magnafuel pumps have metal filters.

The fuel is brand new from ignite. 3 drums I tried them all. All read 95 to 98%

thats your problem, your fuel is 98% ethanol and your carb is set up for 85% you need to eather change fuel or adjust carb to run 98%, I would go to the gas station and just buy pump grade E-85 and dump it in and see what happens, I know you can also reduce your 98% by adding 87 unleaded but not sure on how much to add, maybe someone else will chime in and help out?

That has crossed my mind. The thing that kills me is last season all I ran was the ignite red right out the barrel 98% and I made 220 runs extremely consistent winning a lot of race's having 0 issues.

I would try some pump fuel and see what happens, your carb is most likely set up for E-98 allready if you ran it for over 200 passes but if its not pulling on top end its most likely fuel or timing issues, good luck and let us know what you find
