Greetings fellow E85 folks,
I am converting a 72 Ford Maverick to E85 w/Nitrous. Since I have never built an E85 car before, I am a bit spun with all the conflicting information out there.
The build is a stock 5.0L roller cam motor as a mock up "work the bugs out" motor. The rest of the system is a street fuel cell w/foam removed, -8AN braided steel non-teflon fuel supply hose, anodized aluminum fuel fittings, Holley HP Series 150 Fuel Pump and Regulator, and a Quick Fuel 650 E85 carb.
Can any experienced E85 folks critique this set up? Any advice on fuel supply line size/type, fuel supply fittings material, and/or materials compatibility?
BTW- the long term goal is a 11:1, Squeezed 347", Street/Strip Goofy Hot Rod.
Thanks in advance for the input and advice.

Your fuel pump/regulator is fine. Increase your fuel pump supply line from tank to -10, or use (2) -8 lines to a Y-block. Magnafuel makes a beautiful Y-Block. Spend some money on the fuel filter. Don't skimp. System 1 makes some excellent filters that can be disassembled, inspected, and cleaned. Make sure your filter flows at least 2x the pump output. Remember, E85 is heavier than gasoline (7.56 lbs/gallon), so when you are looking at the flow rates of filters, keep that in mind. Use -8 from pump to regulator, and -6 from regulator to carburetor (equal length).
That carburetor is most likely not calibrated correctly for E85.

dont use a small flat screen type .the build up of parfins on it over a years use restricts flow and ya gotta burn it off .
