Hi all - just joined the forum. Looking for anyone running a unblown constant flow E85 injection setup?? Like a Rons RRP toilet or Enderle hat. I have a BBF I'm converting from injected methanol to E85 and looking to share tuneup info.

Welcome Rich! I run a terminator on a 555 BBC in a dragster. I ran the car on E85 one time with decent results. Post up some info on your combination & we'll see what we can come up with.

I have run in on three different BBC between 540" to 570" with crower stack injectors. I did not have as much time to really work on them as I would have liked so I can't give you too many details. Adam is a great reference.

Based on a known good methanol tuneup, I calculated an E85 tuneup to start with. Motor is 521ci with a toilet alky BV, 80A pump, 22 nozzles & 90 main jet. I havent fired it yet since the conversion. I have EGT and A/F probes that I'll be able to monitor. What tuneups were you guys running?

What was the methanol tune up & was it on the 521? With the terminator, on methanol, I had 40 nozzle jets with a 76 main. On e85, went to 31 nozzle jets & started with an 85 main. Ran ok , but was a little blubbery on the burn out. Tried going richer (82) first to be safe even though I thought it was probably on the rich side already. Definately didn't like it. Fell on its face when it left an slowed up .06 in eighth. Leaned it to 88 and motor perked up. It was clean on the burn out & it hit the tires harder (even though it didn't reflect in the 60' because the track was nuts) and picked up .02 in eighth. I didn't get to try anything else, but I think it's fairly close. May still be a little fat. It warms up quicker & uses about 1/2 to 2/3 of a gallon less fuel pit to pit. You will have to lean out the barrel valve some as well.

I ran this same motor (but with more compression) with a toilet & 1/2 pump for many years on methanol and the optimal tuneup was 37 nozzles & 87 main jet. Never ran a high speed poppet. The 80A (1) pump I have now is probably a little big but I'm hoping I can just return more? I dont have a 1/2 pump anymore to try.

If I remember correctly the 570 had kinsler 550 Nozzles and ran a 70 pill. The pump was an -0 hilborn and I can't remember what it flowed off the top of my head. The 540 I put together had hilborn 14 Nozzles and a -1 pump so it had a big pill in it. I did not like the idea of the big pill. I wanted to run a pump sizer, but the owner did not want the extra plumbing. It worked fine for a recreation boat though. Neither one had a high speed as they were both suppose to be play toys, but we did run the 570 at a few races. We put a high speed on it with a ..040 pill to be way on the safe side. After seeing that it had the power to compete we left it as is. This was in a circle race boat.

Even with the 80A pump, 22 nozzles seem a little small. Being able to monitor A/F ratio will be a big help!

Car is completely finished and ready to fire, but its zero degrees & we're buried in snow! So I guess its time to just hunker down & wait until spring....
