hi everyone. been doing some reading, I think i'll be doing the switch to E85 before too long...this pricey fuel is a crock . Here in Illinois the farmers have a lot of pull, so E85 is at d**n near every station. It's priced 20 to 30 cents a gallon less than regular...just have to wonder about consistency
combo... 540, 13.5/1 ported Indy 440-1 heads Comp roller, 284/288 dur, 728 lift, 1.6s 8896 Dominator Magnafuel 500 pump
will the conversion kit offered here work with bigger carbs/motors? if not, any suggestions on where to to send the carb to get it done right?
are big changes in timing needed?
alcohol is hell on rubber parts...so will rubber lined braided hoses need swapped out?

Welcome to the board 540mpoe. I'm not one to blow my own whistle but the et consistency is the whole reason for switching. With a tester (that I sell) you will know what your ethanol % is every time you buy it as well. I'm sure some others will jump on here too. Your combinations sounds like it is ideal for E85. With it all around you WHY have you not converted before now man? You see the Plymouth Arrow on the web site, it's a 451 14:1 stroker on pump grade E85 running 5.80s in the 1/8th with a Dominator and a RaceonE85.com conversion kit. You can send us your carb and we will convert it for you and test it on this car or you can do it yourself. I can tell you that your fuel system is up to par. Your "rubber" hoses are fine. You just need to tweak your carb and you'll be running in corn squeezin' bliss. We just did a 8896 and it turned out great.
