Hi,
I'm in the planning and parts collection stage of my engine build. Because of road laws here in Australia unfortunately I cannot go forced induction (Supercharger/Turbo charger) legally. Nitrous is also illegal here but its is much easier for me to hide.
I am lucky enough to have pump E85 with 2km of my house and I'm doing my research into building an E85 nitrous motor.
The car will be use mostly on the street running E85 and to be competitive in our x275 class here I need to run around 8.5's, my car is around 2600lb. That's means I'm hoping for just under 1000 engine hp roughly. I like to build things and I will be doing most of the work myself. fuel wise I'd like to use a Megasquirt 3-pro, coils and a crank angle sensor.
Here is where things get tricky...Because of the laws regarding engine sizes in cars here I am stuck with an 8.2 deck height Windsor. So with a Dart block I will be around 360-370ci.
There is a few 1000+hp small deck Windsor's here in Aus but they are all turbo cars.
Can anyone recommend any books to read or give any tips or hints on building this?
Compression ratio's and cam selection are probably my biggest question.
