I have a wideband but I need to replace the sensor. I already have it, just not installed. The old sensor works but when it goes rich, it just reads 0. I may be busy for a few days so tuning is on hold for a while.

They wanted to work around the problem. Just not practical long term. I wanted the job. They wanted me just as much. I am sure I could not get the job done without eventually causing problems, for them. Thats not how I work. I wont take a job if I cant do it up to my expectations as well as theirs. It was contract work. Not any big $$$ professional thing but whatever job I do, its important that it is something I can deliver on. Oh yea, I'm pretty healthy and get around just fine. There are just certain things I cant do. Another gig will come along. I have faith in that.

Keep your head up Jack- sounds like you did the right thing and they know it-they will remember your honesty and maybe someday find a place for you that works for both-if they really like you don't be afraid to ask if they have a sister company or related buisness that can be a better fit. Keep the faith because something should come along. My last workplace was sliding downhill financially and I worked my way from office work back down to a job that sometimes meant I needed to handle 100 # bags- it killed my back-permanently. I kept working and looking until I found something that fit my abilities and put me back in a mixed office/outdoor job that also re-challenged my at the time 50 year old mind. They need me and I really enjoy it. They also stuck by me when I later broke my back and was down for 12 weeks- they let me work from home from a hospital bed where I could log on and do 80% of my job- paid me full salary too. Best wishes and keep your eye on the prize.

Thanks for the positive thoughts guys. I will land on my feet. Not sure where but I will. [edit] Have an interview for Thursday. Enough of this whining, I need to get back to tuning. ;D

I got the gig. Took the tinkle test tonight. 10 weeks starting March 22. Not a big deal but I'm OK with that. It will let me do some racing and tuning for the E85. Still need to work on that advance curve.
